The new establishment will include cosmetics and a food corner through Asian snacks.
AliExpress continues its expansion in Spain. The company will open its fifth store on October 2 in the Parquesur de Leganés shopping center (Madrid). It is the fifth store of the Chinese giant in Spain, although it is already preparing another opening in Seville, as this publication announced a few days ago, and a seventh before the end of the year whose location has not been revealed.
“Today we reflect with the commitment to open physical stores that we are taking a further step in the reality of this project,” said Eduardo Pisa, director of brands and key businesses of AliExpress in Spain. And they do it in one of the most important shopping centers in the south of Madrid.
The new store has an area of 400 m2 and it is divided into three areas: zone for strategic brands (about 20 Spanish and foreign), another one of super offers and the last one dedicated to the young public. “The stores are a little smaller compared to the first ones,” says the director.
The categories of mobile telephony, smartwatches or scooters will be among the most prominent. They will also explore two new categories: cosmetics and a food corner that will feature Asian cob snack.
On opening day, AliExpress bets on the claim for first users with 400 awards. The idea is to reward the top 10 consumers with premium gifts (such as an LG TV or a Xiaomi Scooter, among others). They will also receive a scratch card to enter a drawing for 400 products such as coffee makers or straightening brushes.
What’s more, from October 2 to 6 there will be a 20% discount on the entire store except in the area of super offers.
On the other hand, the company will open soon a new AliExpress Plaza space in the Lagoh shopping center in Seville, where you can already see publicly the place it will occupy. In addition, they have thrown originality with the message that can be read in their future establishment: “In this store we are also going to be known by the accent.” At the moment, the company has not offered more details about the opening.
“We cannot reveal the opening day of the Seville store, but it will be soon. The safest thing is that it will be close to the date of Black Friday ”, they point out from the Chinese ecommerce giant.
The choice of this center is no coincidence. In 2019, the real estate company Lar España – owner of the Seville shopping center and more than a dozen in Spain – negotiated to integrate its own online sales platform into the Chinese giant AliExpress. This platform was created to serve the stores of its centers in ecommerce.
This new store joins the recently opened in Barcelona at the Westfield La Maquinista shopping center. It has an area of about 300 square meters and will exhibit more than 1,000 popular online products from different Spanish and international brands.
In addition, in Barcelona there are two others located in Gran Vía 2 (L’Hospitalet de Llobregat) and in Finestrelles Shopping Center (Esplugues de Llobregat). They are joined by Intu Xanadú (Madrid), the first that the company opened in Spain in August 2019. In total, with Leganés, Seville and another, there would be seven AliExpress stores in Spain.
Stores that add to its expansion strategy in our country. Last week, la company, with the aim of optimizing the order delivery experience in the Spanish market, launched a service lockers powered by Cainiao, which joins the network of collection points established by AliExpress together with local logistics partners (such as the more than 2,700 collection points managed by Celeritas).
The new service already has more than 200 lockers available in Madrid and Barcelona; and the goal is to exceed 600 locations in the country – adding more Spanish cities – by the end of the year.
