Lidl bet heavily on Christmas. The German chain has reinforced its Deluxe range, which returns to its establishments this Christmas with an exclusive selection of more than 350 products, as presented by the chain at a virtual press conference.

In addition, in accordance with its commitment to the Origin Spain product, 70% of the assortment comes from Spanish suppliers and includes products with Denomination of Origin and Protected Geographical Indication stamps.

The selection is already available in the more than 600 stores that Lidl has in Spain while stocks last. From gourmet starters and appetizers to refrigerator items such as meats, salmon and cheeses, preserves, seafood and traditional desserts, with prices between 0.99 and 18.99 euros.

70% of the references that make up the highest range of Lidl’s offer are produced by small and medium-sized producers from Spain, for example Can Bech, a small family business specialized in the production of canned fruit and vegetables of the highest quality and MCA Spain, a company specialized in Products with Designation of Origin, canned vegetables and canned fish.

Every year Lidl reviews the Deluxe assortment to adjust it to the trends and demands of consumers, trying to offer them a complete, attractive, innovative and differential selection.

Regarding the novelties of this year, the frozen scallop gratin of shellfish stands out in the frozen section, the scallop stuffed with crab, the tuna tataki, the chocolate coulant with raspberry or orange. In the fridge, the nougat Flan, the Cheese Delights with red fruits and figs or the Duck Foie Gras Block stand out.

Finally, on the shelf, there are novelties such as Octopus in olive oil, tomato and chilli Chutney, yellow and red tear pepper and extra virgin olive oil with Truffle, among others.

Beyond being present in the more than 600 stores that make up the store network Lidl in Spain, Lidl exports to Europe every year Christmas gastronomy made in Spain: in the last 10 years, Lidl has exported Christmas products made in Spain for its brands worth more than 50 million euros to 30 countries and more than 10,000 stores in which it is present.

Only in nougat, Lidl has exported more than 25 million tablets to the rest of the countries in which it operates in the last 10 years, thus bringing the products with the best quality-price ‘Made in Spain’ to the rest of Europe.

In Spain, the national products that fill Lidl’s shelves already account for more than 70% of the total supply. Today, the company works with more than 750 Spanish suppliers which Lidl unconditionally supports by acting as an international platform: 55% of the purchase volume from national suppliers is exported to other European markets in which the company operates.
