Naturgy achieves a net profit of 777 million euros, 58.6% more in the first nine months of the year

The company will pay the second dividend for an amount of 0.40 euros per share on November 15, 2021.

Naturgy has achieved an ordinary profit of 865 million in the first nine months of the year, 28% more than a year earlier but still below pre-pandemic levels, as reported to the CNMV.

While the ordinary EBITDA reached 2,990 million euros, 6.4%, mainly due to the gradual recovery of energy demand and the transitory impacts of open positions in the energy markets.

The profits up to September of the energy group chaired by Francisco Reynés include the net capital gains of 187 million euros corresponding to the divestments of the electricity business in Chile and the stake in Unión Fenosa Gas (UFG) in Egypt.

The company has announced the payment of the second interim dividend on the results of 2021 for an amount of 0.40 euros per share on November 15, 2021.

For its part, the group’s investments amounted to 900 million euros in the period, mainly focused on the renewable generation and energy distribution network infrastructures.

It highlights that the energy company’s balance sheet has been strengthened, with a net debt of 11.4 billion euros as of September, 16% lower than at the end of 2020.

The energy company indicates that the results between January and September include those of the third quarter, “which are not indicative of the expected evolution of the business for the rest of the year and should not be extrapolated due to the regulatory changes in Spain and the volatility in the markets gas internationals.
