Sacyr receives 13.18 million for the cancellation of the airport in Mexico

Sacyr has received one compensation of 13.18 million euros due to the termination of the contract for the construction of the foundation slab of the ground transportation center of which it was to be the New Mexico City International Airport (NAICM), which was finally canceled by the Government.

The contract amounted to 118.83 million euros and its works were completed almost halfway through the project, sources from the construction company have detailed this Tuesday.

As explained by Sacyr, the entity that managed the work for the creation of the new airport in the Mexican capital, Grupo Aeroportuario, 90% of the contracts have been closed to date that he had with different companies for the construction of the airport.

The NAICM project was going to have six tracks and allow the transit of 120 million passengers per year, four times more than the capacity of the Mexico City airport, for which a public investment of more than 9,000 million dollars (more than 8,000 million euros at current exchange rates) had been required.
