The Junta de Andalucía will study the extension of the closure of the hotel business half an hour more than planned, so that the opening is prolonged until 11:00 p.m. instead of at 10:30 p.m. This option would compensate for the split schedule that the Andalusian Government will establish as of the 18th, set from morning to 6:00 p.m. and from 8:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.

This is confirmed to Invertia sources of the negotiation between the hospitality sector and the Executive of Juanma Moreno. The request was transferred this same Sunday by the hospitality that considers “absurd” closing during two hours in the afternoon. For this reason, he told the regional government the request for a half-hour extension that he will study the Ministry of Health and Families.

That the Board give the green light to this request would calm the tensions with the Andalusian Federation of Hospitality Entrepreneurs. The announcement of the progressive de-escalation by the Andalusian president, Juanma Moreno, has raised blisters among the hoteliers who describe the measures as an “outrage” to the sector.

After the appearance late on Thursday, the sector decided break its relations with the Andalusian Government for the “evident and continuous abuse” when considering them a “risky activity”. His anger rose to request the resignation of the president of the Junta de Andalucía, request that they maintain to this day.

The president of the Andalusian federation, Francisco de la Torre, remains in this line. Speaking to Invertia, he stressed that anger is the climate that prevails between the sector that does not understand its “criminalization”. “We have not slept for ten months because we do not know how to get out of this situation,” says De la Torre.

Mobilizations

For its part, the Andalusian Federation of Hospitality Entrepreneurs has announced mobilizations throughout the autonomous community next December 21. The protests will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and will demand aid and measures that allow them to open normally.

Likewise, the objective of the demonstrations will be to express the discomfort with the Andalusian Government. In the opinion of the sector, it opts for the partial closure of its businesses while crowds are allowed to see the Christmas lighting, as it has been seen this past weekend.

No answers for leisure

For its part, the Federation of Leisure and Recreation Entrepreneurs Associations has joined the demands of the hotel industry and will also participate in the protests. In a statement, ‘Andalucía de Noche’ has criticized the nightclubs for nine months closed “Without receiving any kind of help from the Board.” “We still do not have any information on possible real aid and with little expectation of receiving them”, they state from the sector that regrets that the “uncertain horizon” by not knowing when they will be able to open their businesses. To do this, they have again asked for a total rescue plan.
