The light will rise this Wednesday and will touch 200 euros/MWh

The maximum price of electricity will be between 9:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m., with 230.01 euros MWh.

Autumn advances and energy prices do not let up. The average daily price of electricity in the wholesale market will rise this Wednesday, November 10, to 199.28 euros per megawatt hour (MWh). In other words, it becomes 11.6% more expensive, thus continuing its climb this week.

Although it is a very high price, at least it has been below 200 euros for 12 consecutive days. A relative consolation, given that a year ago it was listed at 45.62 euros/MWh. That is, the light is almost four times more expensive than a year ago, with an accumulated increase of 336.8%.

According to data from the OMIE, the maximum price of electricity will be between 9:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m. with 230.01 euros MWh, while the minimum price will be registered between 04:00 a.m. and 05:00 a.m. when it will cost 171.81 euros .

October, the most expensive month in history

The average price stood at the end of October at 200.06 euros/MWh, with which it closed as the most expensive month in history, with a price 44 euros higher than the average for September (156.14 euros/MWh).

The electricity bill is not going to give up in the short term. In fact, the Minister of Ecological Transition, Teresa Ribera, openly acknowledges that “it is not ruled out” that they register high gas prices in international markets “well into 2022. This situation would continue to have its corresponding effect on the electricity bill in Spain in the coldest months of the year.
