The global economic recovery, notably in Asia, pushed energy prices up strongly.
TotalEnergies got a net attributable profit of 4,645 million dollars (4,003 million euros) in the third quarter of the year, well above the result of 202 million dollars (174 million euros) recorded by the French in the same period of 2020.
The income of TotalEnergies between July and September increased 65% year-on-year, up to 54,729 million dollars (47,166 million euros), driven by the sharp rise in energy prices.
“The global economic recovery, notably in Asia, strongly drove energy prices up in the third quarter as a consequence of the interconnection of energy systems ”, highlighted the CEO of the company, Patrick Pouyanné.
Thus, in the first nine months of the year, the French company obtained a net attributable profit of 10,195 million dollars (8,786 million euros) in contrast to the losses of 8,133 million dollars (7,009 million euros) of the same period of 2020.
Also, the turnover TotalEnergies between January and September was driven 41.6% higher compared to the same period of 2020, reaching 145,515 million dollars (125,407 million euros).
On the other hand, the company’s board of directors has declared the distribution of the third dividend interim 2021 for an amount of 0.66 euros per share, stable compared to the first and second interim dividends in 2021.
